Rajinikanth was born to Ramoji and Jijabai Gaikwad, a Maharashtrian couple, living in Bangalore and was named Shivaji Rao Gaikwad. His mother left the world when Rajini was 5 and after that, the family went through a crisis.

As a young man, Rajinikanth did several odd jobs. He was working as a bus conductor before he created its name in the film industry.
Rajanikant's friend Raj Bahadur encouraged him to achieve his dreams and become an actor. Bahadur asked him to join Madras Film Institute.

He did only a few films in Bollywood, most of the films are in Tollywood. You will see Rajani in total 160 films. Shivaji-The Boss is Rajani’s all-time favourite film.

Billa was his first blockbuster which is a remake of Amitabh's Don.
